Number 4:
Cloud computing
This little life saver was proposed by someone called John McCarthy, he thought he should be able to work on the same files in different places. He thought of this theory in the 1960s, before the internet. The internet was the key to unlocking the power of cloud computing and both have grown ever since.
I like cloud computing because it allows you to be flexible about where and how you work. Also its awesome for disaster recovery, if you lose your work on your computer or the computer itself, the work you create and save in the cloud will still be there. Easy.
However, there are some problems with cloud computing, one in particular. Dependency. You depend on the cloud to not crash and if it does, you will be quite angry. No more work for you after that...
Number 3:
Microsoft
Now, this may sound biased but I love Microsoft. It is a operating system I have grown up with and I still use it now, Windows 8 to be precise. Actually, this view may be the same for many people around the world because 83.84% of all computers in the world are using some form of Windows operating system. Whilst only 4.8% use Linux and 9.3% use Mac. I was shocked by this because Apple is as popular as Microsoft and can be used for video editing because in that sense it is better that Microsoft.
I like Microsoft because it has revolutionised how we use computers, WIMP, Windows, icons, menus, pointers has come from this. There is also a lot of operating systems to suit your needs. From XP in 2001 to Windows 8 in 2012. However, Microsoft still is the operating system most vulnerable to virus attacks.

As one of the most awesome creations, Google owns many of the famous brands as well. YouTube, Android and it created Blogger. I wouldn't be able to write all this without it. THANK YOU GOOGLE.
It works by entering a URL in a web browser, this will send a http command to the web server directing it to find and transmit the web page to the browser. This simple method is not thought about as much as it should do because it is the back bone of the internet. You can't see it but without it the internet would be nothing.
Stats from:
Number 2:
Google
Larry Page and Sergey Brin created the first Google page in 1997. This is the best and most innovative creation to date and companies like Yahoo! and Bing have followed suit. It is the most used website in the world and is basically like a massive library or database on the internet.

Number 1:
http//:
Stands for Hypertext Transfer protocol and we all don't give it as much credit as it should have. Tim Berners-Lee created this in 1989 to send data between computers and devices. It is the foundation of data communication for WWW. and this world of communication wouldn't be the same without it.

I hope this has made you think about this question:
What is the best computing software ever created?
Please comment if you agree or disagree with what I have chosen, I would love to hear from you lovely people out there!
