Is technology making us lazy? Discussion

A question many people have debated about and not come to a full conclusion. Is technology making us lazy? Today I will discuss this question and probably not come to a conclusion like many before me.  Check it out:

YES?
People have stuff they want to know, do we look it up in a library? Do we conduct a questionnaire to find answers? No. We simply Google it. A wealth of information is on the internet for us to look up as and when we need it. This could prove we are lazy, but who am I to judge, I Google stuff all the time.

Need a bit of retail therapy but can't be asked to walk to town or catch the bus to wander round the high street? Then online shopping is for you! This is the message that most retailers are wanting you to think because it is easier for them and you. Think about it: they can close shops and save money on workers, you can shop any day or night and in your pyjamas!

Facebook. The online communication media created by Mark Zuckerberg and now has almost 800 million active users. We all use it nearly everyday but is this software making us lazy? We can catch up with friends by chat or video call and post statuses about the random crap we get up to all without leaving the house. With one connection we have access to millions of profiles and people this can influence the way we live our lives. NO?
You could argue that it is just us who are lazy and technology has nothing to do with it, we could be naturally lazy and technology is simply showing us this. This is all down to our attitudes towards this topic, some people may votes yes or could vote no depending on their opinion.

"Technology is helping us survive!" Is what some people in the right profession could argue. I'm talking about: scientists, pilots, engineers and nurses. These jobs are just a few which rely on technology to discover, fly, create and save lives. If you were looking at this question from their point of view then the answer would be no, technology is not making us lazy.

Oh. and one more thing, technology keeps us safe, heard of CCTV, traffic lights and forensic science? These three things make our lives a lot safer and sometimes prevent lives being lost, this is all technology but which is making us safe and which is making us lazy?
