Where is it going?

This weeks post is about the future of technology and the consequences it will create in the future world. Recently, I brought a new book, The New Digital Age by Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen. And I love it. I have only read the first few chapters but it made me think about the future of technology and the impacts it will have on the world. Now, I do hope to be a part of a new break-through in technology, because I basically live, eat and sleep with technology all around me, as we all do. I hope to be big in the future, I know it sounds too ambitious but that's just me. I want to be a part of the next game-changer in terms of computing, I hope this happens, as I hope to work for someone like Google or Microsoft, and get to the top. Enough about me, my question this week: Where is it going?

Personally, I think advances in technology is going to be a good thing, loads of people have the strange idea that robots are going to out smart us and take over the world.... Blah blah blah. No way would this happen, remember one thing people: Computers and artificial intelligence are only as good as the people who wrote them. No one who writes programs for a living are that crazy, and to be honest, they will probably get fired or worse. I think robots will be of great advantage to human-kind. Thought controlled robots are up-and-coming, just take a second to think about the amazing things this could do for some people of the world. Paralysed people could walk again just by a thought, bomb disposal experts will not be killed as often, search and rescue teams could save people from a safer distance... to name just a few.

People may not even need to be in the same country to work for a company. I know it sounds silly, but seriously, it would work. With all the advances in the internet, an employee could carry out task in another country, send the completed work back and the employer could send him/her money straight to their bank account. Again, think about what this would mean for third world countries. A poor man with a young family in Ethiopia, with an internet connection could potentially earn enough money to survive. I'm telling you now, Technology will eventually revolutionise the planet.

If you have some spare money, I suggest you invest in this book:
Best thing I ever brought ( I am not advertising for them by the way,
 its just a great book)
