Mircosoft's disappointment: The Xbox One

As I've said before, I love my Xbox, its my life. But this is just a poor outcome from Microsoft. I expected more. When I first heard about this new amazing console a few months ago, I thought it was outstanding, the graphics, the games, the Kinect, the whole new camera which made the game be projected around your TV as well as on it. It looked so good and I wanted one immediately. But then Xbox released the details....

Let me give you as list of the STUPID things that Microsoft have decided it would be a good idea to put in it:

  • The Xbox one is not backwards compatible with any Xbox 360 games
  •  You must connect to the internet every 24 hours in order to verify games, if this does not happen then no games will work.
  • No leading games to friends *
  • No borrowing games from friends*
  • No trading in the games at game shops either
( The last three are because, they have basically turned it into a PC, you download the games onto your account and no one else can use them)
  • Games are tied to the console
  • The new Kinect does not listen to verbal commands or records convosations
*You can only sell to friends after they have been on your friend list for 30 days, even then you can only sell to them once.

Basically, I think Microsoft have shot themselves in the foot with this one, and made a lot of Xbox fans disappointed. They have turned the Xbox into an 'entertainment' device which can Skype people and watch live TV and play games if you are connected to the internet. A lot of PS4 are going to be sold rather than the Xbox One, I have seen so many discussions and forums about this topic and everyone would buy a PS4 instead, if they were to chose.  If anyone reads this from Microsoft, which I doubt they will because I have basically slagged them of, please think of your original fan base, the hard core gamers and not the rest of the entertainment lovers.  :)
